Slash Commands

Every command you can type into chat, grouped by what it is for, with its short forms.

Anything you type in the chat box that starts with a slash is a command rather than something you say out loud. Press Enter and it either acts (you follow someone, you invite them, you roll) or it prints a private line only you can see.

Most commands have short forms, and every form listed in a row does exactly the same thing: /w, /t and /tell are one command. Words in angle brackets are required, words in square brackets are optional, and the capitalization of the command itself never matters.

Which chat tab you have selected decides where a plain line with no slash goes. Select the World tab and your next untagged line goes to World, so glance at the tab before you type. A slash command always wins over the tab, so /w Bob hi whispers Bob whichever tab is up, and on the whisper tab a plain line answers whoever whispered you last.

The game knows the list too

Type /help in game, or /commands, or just /?, and the whole command list prints into your chat. Mistype a command and the game tells you it did not recognize it, and points you back at /help.

Talking

CommandWhat it does
/say <message> /s <message>Speak to the players standing near you. A plain line with no slash goes to whichever chat tab you have selected, and Say is the one you start on.
/yell <message> /y <message>Shout, so players much further away than say range hear you.
/whisper <name> <message> /w /t /tellSend a private message to one player who is online. Their name matches whatever capitalization you type, as long as only one player could be meant.
/reply <message> /rAnswer whoever whispered you last, without typing their name again.
/me <action> /emote /eFreeform action text in the third person, so "/me ponders the fountain" reads as your name followed by the action. Everyone near you sees it.
/party <message> /p <message>Talk to everyone in your party or raid.

Channels

General reaches the whole realm and you are in it from the moment you log in. World and LFG are opt in: join one first, then you can read and talk in it.

CommandWhat it does
/general <message> /1 <message>The realm-wide General channel.
/g <message>A short form with two meanings, so it is worth knowing: offline it sends to General, but online it is your guild channel. Type /general or /1 when you definitely mean General.
/guild <message> /gu <message>Talk to your guild. Online play only, and you need to be in a guild.
/officer <message> /o <message>The officer channel of your guild, open to officers and the Guild Master. Online play only.
/join <channel> /leave <channel>Join or leave an optional channel. The two you can join are world and lfg, and typing /join on its own lists them. Opening a chat tab for one of them joins it for you.
/world <message>Talk in the World channel, once you have joined it.
/lfg <message>Talk in the LFG channel, where people look for groups. Join it first.

Party and group

CommandWhat it does
/invite <name>Invite an online player to your party by name, however far away they are standing.
/party /group /grpWith no message after it, this prints your party roster instead: every member with their level, class and health, and the leader marked.
/ready /readycheckThe party or raid leader starts a ready check, and everyone else gets a prompt to answer yes or no.
/assist [name] /as [name]Target whatever the named player is targeting. With no name it assists the player you have targeted. It reaches your party and raid anywhere in the world, and anyone else close enough for you to see.
/follow [name]Trail another player automatically. With no name it follows your current target. Moving, casting, fighting, picking a new target, or the other player pulling away all end it, and you cannot start it in combat.
/unfollowStop following.
/roll /roll N /roll M-NRoll a random number, from 1 to 100 unless you name a limit or a range. Your party sees the result, or everyone nearby when you are not in one. The roll is made by the server, so nobody can fake one.

Other players

CommandWhat it does
/who [text]List the players online. Add text to narrow it to names or zones containing that text.
/inspect <name> /ins /examineLook up an online player's level, class and health.
/ignore <name> /unignore <name> /ignorelistHide a player's public chat and their overhead chat bubbles from you. Their whispers, rolls, invites and mail still arrive. The list form prints who you are ignoring.
/block <name> /unblock <name> /blocklistThe stronger version: it also stops their whispers, invites and mail, and hides the two of you from each other in /who. The list form prints who you have blocked.

The /who roster and your ignore and block lists are kept by the server, so those work in online play only.

/listings /mylistings /auctionsYour own listings on the World Market, with the asking price, the time each has left, and how much room you have for more.
/buyback /bb /repurchaseWhat you sold to a vendor recently and could still buy back.

/manaregen /regen /5srFor mana users: whether your out-of-combat mana regeneration has started ticking again.
/savedmana /parkedmana /smFor a mana user who is shapeshifted: the mana parked while you are shifted, which comes back when you shift out.
/combo /cp /combopointsHow many combo points you are holding.
/consumable /consumables /eat /drinkThe food and drink working on you right now, and how long each has left.

In a fight

/overpower /op /overpoweredFor warriors: whether the Overpower window that an enemy dodge opens is still available.

World and travel

CommandWhat it does
/where /loc /zoneThe zone you are standing in, its level range, and your coordinates.
/zones /zonelist /worldmapEvery zone in travel order with its level range, and the one you are in marked.
/nearby /near /aroundThe living things closest to you, nearest first.
/pois /poi /landmarksThe landmarks of your current zone, nearest first, with the distance to each.
/graveyard /gy /spirithealerWhere your spirit would return to if you fell here.
/dungeons /dungeon /instancesEvery dungeon with the zone its door sits in and the party size it is built for, plus the difficulty you are currently set to.
/dungeon normal /dungeon heroicSwitch your dungeons between the normal and heroic difficulty.
/dungeon resetAbandon your own empty instances, which is what you do after changing difficulty.

Recovery and presence

CommandWhat it does
/unstuckThe way out when the world has trapped you. Stand still through a short countdown and you are moved to the nearest graveyard, and raised there if you had already fallen. It leaves you weakened by Unstuck Sickness for a while afterwards, so it is a last resort rather than a shortcut.
/afk [message]Mark yourself Away From Keyboard, with an optional message that anyone who whispers you gets as an automatic reply. Repeat it with no message to clear it; any other chat clears it too.
/dnd [message]Do Not Disturb: like away, except whispers sent to you are held back instead of delivered.
/sit /standSit down where you are, and stand back up. You stand automatically the moment you move, cast, or take a hit.
/help /commands /?Print the command list into your chat.

Emotes

The social emotes are commands too: /wave, /bow, /cheer, /dance, /laugh and the rest, each shown to everyone in say range. Add a name to aim one at somebody, as in "/wave Aleph", and /me covers anything the list does not.

Community commands

A few commands start with an exclamation mark instead of a slash. They announce something to the realm and post it to the community Discord at the same time, so people who are not logged in see it too. They are part of online play.

The set is !lfg for looking for a group, !wts and !wtb for selling and buying, !recruit for guild recruitment, !event for a raid or a meetup, and !help when you are stuck. Type the command, then your message.

If a command does not work

A command the game does not recognize comes back as an unknown-command notice, and nothing is said out loud, so a typo never lands in the channel you were talking in. Commands sent too quickly in a row are throttled: slow down for a moment and they go through again. Some need something to act on, so /follow with nobody targeted, or /reply when nobody has whispered you, will tell you so.
