Controls
Default keys for desktop. Every binding here can be changed from the Key Bindings panel in the game menu, except Esc, which always opens that menu. Each action holds up to two keys, a main one and an alternate, and a binding can be a modifier combo like Shift+Z. It can also be a mouse button: the middle button is M3 and the thumb buttons are M4 and M5, with any further buttons counting up from there. Left and right click stay reserved for the camera, click to move, and clicking things in the world.

Swimming uses two keys: hold Space to rise and LCtrl to sink. Aiming the camera down while you swim forward dives as well, so you can steer your depth with the view. LCtrl is the one default that is a modifier key on its own, and a lone modifier press is ignored while you are binding, so pick a key that is not a modifier if you rebind Swim Down.
Click to Move is on by default: left-click a spot on the ground to walk there, with a marker showing where you are headed. Open the Key Bindings panel in the game menu to turn it off or choose the Right Click button instead. Clicking a creature or another player walks you over to them and stops in range, while that click still does its usual job of targeting or interacting; if you are already close enough to reach what you clicked, you simply interact and stay where you are. Any of the movement keys takes control straight back and ends the trip, and so does holding the mouse button to look around. Jumping does not, so you keep travelling through the hop, and opening the game menu only pauses the trip, which carries on when you close the menu.
Attack Move stays off until you switch it on: open the Key Bindings panel, turn it on, and the A row above starts working. With the cursor over the game world, it walks you toward the cursor and opens up on the enemy under it, or on the first hostile you meet along the way. While the option is on, A issues that attack move instead of turning left, so turn with the left arrow key, which Turn Left also carries by default, or give Turn Left a key of your own.
You can also bind straight from the bar: choose Edit action bar keys in the Key Bindings panel, then click a slot on the live bar and press the key you want. Click Done when you are finished. This one is desktop only, since it needs a physical keyboard.
On mobile
Touch controls appear automatically on phones and tablets: a movement stick on the left, drag anywhere else to look, pinch with two fingers to zoom the camera, and on-screen buttons for your abilities and menus. Tap to Move is off by default: turn it on in Key Bindings to tap creatures or open ground to interact or walk there. When it is on, use the camera control to recenter the view. A small arrow in the top left corner shows or hides the menu buttons, and the More button there holds the rest of your windows.
On a controller
Gamepads work too, and controller support is on by default. The left stick moves, the right stick aims the camera, and the face and shoulder buttons cover your abilities, jumping, and interacting. Open a window like your bags to bring up an on-screen pointer, and the game menu navigates directly with the D-pad and face buttons. You can remap the buttons and adjust stick deadzone, camera speed, vibration, and inverted look from the controller settings in the options, where a button can also be bound to zoom the camera in or out (unbound by default).
