Talents and specializations
Talents are how you make a class your own. They are optional, forgiving, and easy to change, so you can experiment without fear.
What talents do
Your talents are a short ladder of choices rather than a pile of points. Each row that opens offers three options, and you take exactly one of them. They shape how a class feels, leaning it toward more damage, sturdier defense, or stronger healing.
How they work
Talents open up at level 5, the same level you choose your specialization. Five more rows follow as you level, one each at 8, 11, 14, 17 and 20, so the last one lands at the level cap. You make your picks in your class's talent panel, on the Choices tab beside the Specialization tab.
Every row is a crossroads: it offers three options and you commit to one of them. Your next reset reopens every one of those choices.
You do not have to settle on one build. Save a named layout in the panel and it remembers both its picks and your action bar, so switching to another one is a single click, under the same rule as a reset: out of combat, and not in an arena match.
A layout can carry your gear as well. Save it with the entry that offers to keep your gear too and it also records what you were wearing, which is what makes a PvP set and a dungeon set one click apart instead of sixteen. It remembers the exact piece rather than merely its name, so an enchanted ring is never quietly swapped for the plain twin sitting beside it in your bags. Anything it cannot find when you switch back is simply left alone and reported, so a set that lost a piece to the bank or the market still equips everything else.
A finished build can be copied to a short shareable code and handed to a friend, who pastes it straight into their own talent panel to load it.
Specializations by class
Every class has a handful of specializations, each with its own role and a signature focus. You pick one in the talent panel at level 5. It grants a signature ability and a lasting mastery, most of them add passive bonuses that suit the role, and it is also the role you queue as in the Dungeon Finder. Here is the shape of all of them. Open a class for its full kit.
