Getting started
Everything you need for your first hour in Vorgrym, from the login screen to your first dungeon.
Create your account
Open vorgrym.com and choose New here? Create an account. Pick a username (3 to 24 letters, numbers or _), a password of at least 6 characters and your email. If you protect your account with an authenticator app, the login asks for its code too.
One account works everywhere: log in with the same name and password on the web, iPhone or Android, and your heroes are already there.
Create a character
Name your hero, then choose one of 4 races (Human, Dwarf, Orc, Elf) and one of 9 classes. Any race can be any class. Your class decides how you fight:
- Warrior: Plate-clad fighter. Builds rage by dealing and taking blows. (Tank, Damage)
- Mage: Master of fire, frost, and arcane. Powerful but fragile. (Healer, Damage)
- Rogue: Agile assassin. Combo points, stealth, and deadly finishers. (Damage)
- Paladin: Holy knight. Heals, protects, and smites with the Light. (Tank, Healer, Damage)
- Hunter: Ranged marksman with a bow and a loyal beast. (Damage)
- Priest: Healer of the faithful, or a wielder of shadow. (Healer, Damage)
- Shaman: Elemental caster in mail. Totems, lightning, and healing waves. (Healer, Damage)
- Warlock: Dark caster of curses, demons, and draining magic. (Damage)
- Druid: Shapeshifter of the wilds. Heals, tanks, or strikes. (Tank, Healer, Damage)
First steps
New heroes wake up in The Proving Shore at Dawnrest Camp (levels 1–2). The Proving Shore asks nothing of you but time. Learn the camp, strike the effigies, walk the wreck line and, when you are ready, Ferryman Odo will see you across to the vale. You can also ring the bell to go to the vale directly.
The camp teaches the basics one quest at a time:
- Run the Gauntlet from Warden Tam: Gauntlet flag passed
- Strike True from Overseer Pell: Training Effigy felled
- Hone the Edge from Drillmaster Rook: Ability landed on an effigy
- Shell and Claw from Drillmaster Rook: Shore Scuttler culled
- Mother of Pearl from Tidewarden Nel: Mister Crabs slain; Lustrous Pearl claimed
- The Wreck Line from Tidewarden Nel: Castaway Crate opened
- Pouch and Purse from Quartermaster Finch: Linen Pouch bought
- Word on the Wind from Instructor Maren: Guild signpost read
- The Long Walk from Instructor Maren: Walked back from the dead
- Set Sail from Instructor Maren: Report to Ferryman Odo
The ferry then takes you to Eastbrook Vale, home of Eastbrook. Find Marshal Redbrook in town - he has work for you. Your first quest there is Wolves at the Door.
Quest givers have something to say: walk up and click or tap them. Your quest log (L) and the tracker on the right of the screen remind you what to do next. The zones page lists every quest by zone.
